What began in 2021 with our name appearing on the Cobblers’ matchday warm-up tops has grown into a long-standing partnership involving stadium branding, vehicle supply, matchday sponsorship, community events and support for the club both on and off the pitch.
Now, Silverstone Leasing is incredibly proud to take the next step by becoming an official Principal Partner of Northampton Town Football Club.
For our family-run Northamptonshire business, this is far more than a commercial agreement. Northampton is our home, many members of our team are Cobblers supporters, and Sixfields Stadium has become a familiar place for our staff, customers and business partners.
From the “Silverstone Corner” inside the stadium to supporting the club with vehicles and welcoming Northampton Town teams to our charity football events, our relationship has developed naturally over several years.
Becoming a Principal Partner marks the proudest chapter of that journey so far — and the beginning of an exciting new era for two ambitious Northamptonshire organisations.
This is the biggest step yet in a partnership built on local pride, shared values and a genuine desire to support Northampton Town both on and off the pitch.
For our family-run Northamptonshire business, this is about far more than seeing the Silverstone Leasing name around Sixfields Stadium. It is about standing alongside our hometown football club, supporting its ambitions and giving something back to the community that has supported us for more than a decade.
More Than a Logo: A Partnership Built in Northampton
Silverstone Leasing was founded in Northamptonshire in 2012 and has grown from a small local business into a multi-award-winning car and van leasing broker serving customers across the UK.
However, no matter how much our business has developed, Northampton has always remained our home.
Our office at The Old Hay Barn in Preston Deanery is only a short drive from Sixfields Stadium, and many members of our team are lifelong Cobblers supporters. There is a framed Northampton Town shirt hanging proudly in our reception, while matchdays at Sixfields have become a regular part of life for our team, customers and business partners.
Supporting Northampton Town Football Club therefore feels natural.
The Cobblers are not simply a football team. They are an important part of the identity of the town, bringing families, friends, businesses and generations of supporters together every matchday.
Founded in 1897 and known as the Cobblers because of Northampton’s famous shoemaking heritage, Northampton Town have played at Sixfields Stadium since 1994. The club’s community work also reaches far beyond the football pitch, using sport, education, inclusion and health programmes to support people throughout Northamptonshire.
Those community values closely reflect our own approach at Silverstone Leasing: look after people, build long-term relationships and remain proud of where you come from.
How Our Partnership with the Cobblers Began
Our official partnership with Northampton Town Football Club began ahead of the 2021/22 season.
As part of that original agreement, the Silverstone Leasing logo appeared on the first team’s matchday warm-up T-shirts and tops. Our branding could also be seen on the players’ bench jackets and the clothing worn by the Northampton Town coaching staff.
For a local business filled with Cobblers supporters, seeing the players walk onto the Sixfields pitch wearing the Silverstone Leasing name was an extremely proud moment.
The partnership also included a prominent double advertising board inside Sixfields Stadium. Its position near the corner of the pitch soon led to it being nicknamed the “Silverstone Corner” by members of our team and customers attending matches.
What began as a sponsorship agreement quickly became a genuine relationship between two proud Northamptonshire organisations.
Supporting Northampton Town for a Second Season
Following the success of our first season together, Silverstone Leasing renewed its partnership with Northampton Town for the 2022/23 campaign.
The Cobblers continued to wear our name across their matchday warm-up clothing, while the Silverstone Corner remained a familiar sight to supporters inside Sixfields Stadium.
The renewed partnership demonstrated that our involvement was never intended to be a one-season advertising exercise. We wanted to build something meaningful and lasting with the club.
Northampton Town’s commercial team also highlighted the importance of working with successful local businesses that shared the club’s community-focused values. That shared belief in supporting the local economy and the people of Northamptonshire has remained at the centre of our relationship.
Trusted to Support the Club on and off the Pitch
Our relationship with Northampton Town has extended beyond stadium branding and sponsorship.
Silverstone Leasing has also been trusted to provide vehicles for the club’s board members and staff, helping Northampton Town manage its company car requirements through our business leasing and fleet services.
The club has leased vehicles through Silverstone Leasing for more than five years, demonstrating the trust that has developed between our two organisations.
For us, this part of the relationship is particularly important.

In August 2025, Silverstone Leasing proudly returned as an Official Partner of Northampton Town Football Club.
The renewed agreement represented an important new chapter in our relationship with the Cobblers.
It included plans for greater matchday visibility, exclusive car leasing opportunities for supporters, competitions, giveaways and community-focused campaigns designed to benefit people and businesses across Northamptonshire.
Northampton Town Commercial Director James Corrigan welcomed Silverstone Leasing back into the Cobblers family, describing our return as a reflection of the positive momentum being built around the club.

From Official Partner to Principal Partner
On 20 July 2026, Silverstone Leasing announced that we had become a Principal Partner of Northampton Town Football Club.
Principal Partner status represents the highest level of commercial partnership at the club and places Silverstone Leasing among Northampton Town’s most prominent and committed business supporters.
The partnership will provide Silverstone Leasing with an increased presence at Sixfields Stadium and across the club’s communications throughout the season.

Silverstone Leasing organises Silverstone Soccer, our annual charity five-a-side football tournament that brings together companies, supporters, families and community organisations from across Northamptonshire.
The tournament was first created to provide local businesses with a fun and competitive day while raising money for important charitable causes.
Over the years, Silverstone Soccer has raised thousands of pounds for local charities and has become an important fixture in the Northamptonshire business calendar.
In 2025, a team representing Northampton Town Football Club won the Silverstone Soccer tournament, becoming the sixth name to enter the competition’s Hall of Fame. The event raised approximately £3,000 for Cynthia Spencer Hospice.
Northampton Town returned to participate in Silverstone Soccer 2026, joining 11 other teams for another day of football, fundraising and community spirit. The seventh tournament raised £5,578 for CLICK Arts Foundation and The Lewis Foundation UK.

Frequently Asked Questions
Northampton Town Football Club has been represented by many memorable players throughout its long history. Some became Cobblers legends because of what they achieved for the club, while others began their careers at Northampton before reaching the highest levels of English and international football.
Walter Tull
Walter Tull is one of the most historically significant players to represent Northampton Town.
He joined the Cobblers from Tottenham Hotspur in 1911 and made 111 first-team appearances for the club. Tull was one of the first black professional outfield footballers to play at the highest level of the English game.
His achievements extended far beyond football. During the First World War, Tull became one of the British Army’s first mixed-race infantry officers to command white troops. He was killed in action in France in March 1918, but his courage and legacy continue to be remembered by Northampton Town, the wider football community and the British Armed Forces.
Phil Neal
Phil Neal began his professional career with Northampton Town before becoming one of the most successful English footballers of his generation.
The defender made more than 180 appearances for the Cobblers before Liverpool signed him for approximately £66,000 in October 1974. He went on to win eight league championships, four European Cups, four League Cups and the UEFA Cup with Liverpool.
Neal collected 18 major honours during his Liverpool career, making him one of the most decorated players in the club’s history. His journey from Northampton Town’s first team to European football’s biggest stage remains one of the finest examples of a former Cobbler reaching the very top of the game.
Ivan Toney
Ivan Toney progressed through the Northampton Town Academy and made his senior debut for the Cobblers as a teenager.
After establishing himself in the first team, he moved to Newcastle United before enjoying successful spells with Peterborough United and Brentford. Toney later became a Premier League striker and an England international.
His development demonstrates the important role Northampton Town’s Academy can play in identifying and developing talented young footballers from the local area. Ivan Toney is part of a strong group of Northampton Academy graduates who have gone on to play in the Premier League or Championship.
Dave Bowen
Dave Bowen is widely regarded as one of the most important figures in Northampton Town’s history.
The former Wales international represented the Cobblers as a player before becoming the club’s manager. Under Bowen, Northampton enjoyed an extraordinary rise through the Football League, progressing from the Fourth Division to the First Division in just five seasons.
Northampton’s 1965/66 campaign remains the only season in which the club has competed in the top division of English football. Bowen’s contribution is commemorated at Sixfields Stadium, where the Dave Bowen Stand carries his name. He remains one of the defining personalities in the history of the Cobblers.
Frank Large
Frank Large was a powerful and popular centre-forward who had three separate spells with Northampton Town during the 1960s and early 1970s.
He scored 96 league goals for the club and played an important role during one of the most successful periods in Northampton’s history. Large was part of the team that won promotion to the Second Division in 1963 and became a firm favourite with Cobblers supporters because of his physical playing style, commitment and goalscoring ability.
John Frain
John Frain secured his place in Northampton Town history at Wembley Stadium in 1997.
With the Division Three play-off final against Swansea City heading towards extra time, Northampton were awarded a free-kick during stoppage time. Frain’s first attempt was ordered to be retaken, but he kept his composure and fired the second effort into the top corner.
The dramatic goal gave Northampton a 1-0 victory and promotion in front of thousands of travelling Cobblers supporters. It remains one of the most famous moments in the club’s history.
Sam Hoskins
Sam Hoskins has established himself as one of Northampton Town’s most significant modern players.
During his time with the Cobblers, Hoskins has helped the club win promotion on three occasions. Remarkably, he scored in the match that secured promotion each time.
He was also named the 2022/23 League Two Player of the Season after scoring 22 goals as Northampton earned automatic promotion to League One. His longevity, goals, commitment and connection with supporters have secured his place in the club’s modern history.
Other notable former Cobblers include Jack English, Cliff Holton, Ian Sampson, Chris Hargreaves, Luke Chambers, Michael Jacobs, Mark Bunn, Richard Hill and club appearance record-holder Tommy Fowler.
There is no confirmed public figure showing exactly how much Northampton Town Football Club is worth.
Northampton Town is a privately owned football club rather than a publicly listed company. Its shares are not traded on a stock exchange, and there has not been a recent publicly disclosed sale of the entire club that would establish a clear market valuation.

Transfermarkt has estimated the market value of Northampton Town’s playing squad at approximately €3.43 million. This is only an estimated value of the players and should not be confused with the value of the football club as a complete business.
The most accurate answer is therefore that Northampton Town FC does not currently have a publicly confirmed valuation. Any exact figure appearing online should be treated as an estimate unless it is supported by an official investment, takeover or share transaction.
This question can refer to two different periods: Northampton Town’s recent relegation or the serious financial crisis the club experienced in 2015.
Northampton Town’s Relegation in 2026
Northampton Town were promoted from League Two at the end of the 2022/23 season and then spent three seasons competing in League One.
The club finished 14th during the 2023/24 season and 19th in 2024/25. However, the 2025/26 campaign proved much more difficult.
A prolonged run of poor results during the second half of the season left Northampton in the League One relegation places. Kevin Nolan, who had been appointed manager in December 2024, left the club in March 2026, with Technical Director Colin Calderwood taking interim charge for the remainder of the campaign.
Northampton’s relegation was confirmed following a 2-1 defeat away to Luton Town on 15 April 2026. The Cobblers subsequently finished bottom of League One and returned to League Two for the 2026/27 season.
Following the relegation, the club began restructuring its first-team squad and appointed Chris Hogg as its new permanent manager. The objective is to rebuild, compete strongly in League Two and work towards returning to League One.
The 2015 Northampton Town Financial Crisis
Northampton Town also experienced a major financial crisis in 2015 which threatened the club’s future.
HM Revenue and Customs issued a winding-up petition over approximately £160,000 in unpaid taxes. Players and staff faced uncertainty, while serious questions were raised over a £10.25 million loan provided by Northampton Borough Council.
The council loan had been intended to support the redevelopment of Sixfields Stadium, including the construction of a new East Stand. However, much of the planned development was not completed, leading to investigations into where the money had gone.
Supporters, local businesses and the Northampton Town Supporters’ Trust rallied around the club during the crisis. A takeover involving Kelvin Thomas was eventually completed, allowing Northampton Town to continue operating.
Remarkably, despite the turmoil away from the pitch, the Cobblers enjoyed an outstanding 2015/16 season. Managed by Chris Wilder, Northampton won the League Two title and secured promotion with 99 points.
The episode remains one of the most difficult periods in Northampton Town’s history, but it also demonstrated the strength and loyalty of the club’s supporters and the wider Northampton community.
Northampton Town remains an active EFL football club and will compete in League Two during the 2026/27 season. The club is preparing for the new campaign under Chris Hogg while discussions surrounding potential new investment continue.
As of July 2026, the manager of Northampton Town Football Club is Chris Hogg.
Northampton officially announced his appointment on 18 May 2026. Hogg signed an initial two-year contract and replaced Colin Calderwood, who had overseen first-team matters on an interim basis following the departure of Kevin Nolan.
Hogg was appointed shortly after Northampton’s relegation from League One and has been given responsibility for rebuilding the team and preparing the Cobblers for the 2026/27 League Two campaign.
Born in Middlesbrough, Hogg progressed through the Ipswich Town Academy before playing professionally as a defender. His playing career included time with Ipswich Town, Boston United, Hibernian and Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
He was forced to retire from professional football at the age of 28 and subsequently moved into coaching. His development as a coach eventually led to his appointment as Northampton Town’s first-team manager at the age of 41.
Hogg is supported by an experienced football structure that includes Technical Director Colin Calderwood and members of the existing Northampton Town coaching team.
His immediate task is to create a competitive squad capable of challenging in League Two, while developing a clear playing identity and helping the club work towards a return to League One.
The appointment represents a new chapter for Northampton Town following a disappointing 2025/26 season. Supporters will be hoping Hogg can bring renewed energy, stability and long-term progress to Sixfields.
