Silverstone Soccer Hat Trick Raises Record Amount for Hospice
Three was certainly the magic number for Silverstone Leasing as their third annual five-a-side charity football tournament raised a record-breaking £3,231 for Cynthia Spencer Hospice.
Hosted at Daventry Football Club, the popular Silverstone Soccer event brought together 10 enthusiastic teams from businesses across Northamptonshire, all competing for the coveted winner’s trophy. After a fierce competition, Euro Building and Maintenance Contractors took the top prize, with Ox Seven Talent Partners coming in as runners-up. Their goalkeeper was also recognised as player of the tournament for an outstanding performance on the pitch.
This much-loved annual event has become a firm fixture in the local business calendar and continues to grow in both popularity and impact. The driving force behind Silverstone Soccer is Ryan Bishop, Sales Manager at Silverstone Leasing and a lifelong football fan. He launched the tournament in 2020 as a way to combine his passion for the game with raising funds for a cause close to the company’s heart.
Reflecting on the journey so far, Ryan said, “It is our absolute pleasure to raise money for the incredible Cynthia Spencer Hospice. The tireless work they do makes such a difference to local families during the most difficult times. This event has now raised over £5,000 in just three years and has become a brilliant way to bring the business community together for a great cause.”
Some companies, like YMD Boon, have supported the event every year since its inception. The tournament continues to attract both returning and new teams, fostering friendly competition and valuable networking opportunities.
The 2022 event was proudly sponsored by Wilson Browne Solicitors, whose support helped make the day a great success.
A Message from Cynthia Spencer Hospice
Nina Gandy, Corporate Partnerships Fundraiser at Cynthia Spencer Hospice, shared her appreciation:
“Silverstone Soccer has been an incredible event that has raised a fantastic amount over the past three years. We are so grateful to Silverstone Leasing for organising it and bringing together businesses from across the region. The continued support from returning teams and the addition of new faces each year is amazing. The impact on our patients and their families is truly significant. Thank you to Scott, Ryan, and the entire Silverstone team.”
Looking Forward
The success of this year’s event is a powerful reminder of the impact local businesses can have when they come together. It was not only a day of football and fun, but a heartfelt show of support for a vital local charity.
Silverstone Leasing is already planning for the next tournament and looks forward to welcoming even more teams, sponsors, and supporters. Events like Silverstone Soccer are a testament to the strength of the community and the difference we can make, together.
