Silverstone Soccer Kicks Off with a Winning Start for Charity
Silverstone Leasing hosted its first-ever charity football tournament, bringing together local businesses for a day of friendly competition in support of the Cynthia Spencer Hospice.
Held at the Benham Sports Centre on Saturday 15 February, the five-a-side tournament saw twelve Northamptonshire businesses take to the pitch, raising a fantastic £732 for the hospice.
The tournament champions were YMD Boon Architects, who took home the glory and the top spot on the leaderboard.
The event was spearheaded by Ryan Bishop, Silverstone Leasing’s Sales Manager, who combined his passion for football with his commitment to community fundraising.
Ryan said:
"We managed to raise £1,149 with #SingForCynthia last year and I wanted to keep that momentum going. A football tournament felt like the perfect way to bring people together, have fun, and continue supporting such a worthy cause."
Nina Gandy, Corporate Partnerships Fundraiser at Cynthia Spencer Hospice, praised the event:
"The atmosphere throughout the day was incredible. The amount raised is brilliant and shows the amazing support we receive from Silverstone Leasing and the local business community."
This event marked the beginning of what would become a cherished annual tradition – Silverstone Soccer – blending sport, community spirit and fundraising for a cause that’s close to the company’s heart.
