The Amazing Northampton Run
Scott Norville, Managing Director of Silverstone Leasing, and his sister Gemma took on the Northampton Half Marathon on Sunday 15th September – all in support of a cause close to their hearts.
Running a challenging 13.1-mile route, the duo raised over £1,000 for Cynthia Spencer Hospice, the company’s chosen charity. The hospice, based in Northampton, provides essential specialist care for individuals and families facing life-limiting illnesses, and has long been supported by Silverstone Leasing through various fundraising efforts.
Despite Gemma battling a persistent cough and cold, and both runners facing tricky weather conditions, the pair completed the course in an impressive 2 hours and 38 minutes. Scott said the encouragement from the crowd made all the difference:
“Despite the unexpected challenges and my sister’s illness, crossing the finish line and raising over £1,000 for Cynthia Spencer Hospice was an incredible achievement. The support and energy from the crowd made every step worthwhile.”
This fundraising effort builds on the £3,000 raised by Silverstone Leasing at its Silverstone Soccer charity football event in June, further boosting their total for the Hospice this year.
