Supporting Cynthia Spencer with Silverstone Soccer

At Silverstone Leasing, giving back to our local community is at the heart of everything we do. That’s why we proudly support Cynthia Spencer Hospice, a charity that provides essential, compassionate care to people in Northamptonshire facing life-limiting illnesses.

To help raise vital funds, we launched Silverstone Soccer, our annual charity football tournament that brings businesses and individuals together for a great cause. What started as a fun way to connect with the community has grown into a powerful fundraising event.

Over the years, Silverstone Soccer has helped raise over £30,000 for Cynthia Spencer, funding specialist care, support services, and resources for patients and their families when they need it most.

We do this not just because it's the right thing to do, but because we’re proud to be part of a community that looks after one another. We aim to make a real difference through sport, sponsorship, and solidarity, one goal at a time.

At the heart of Silverstone Leasing’s community efforts is Ryan Bishop, a key member of our team and the visionary behind Silverstone Soccer, our flagship charity football event. What began as a simple idea to bring local businesses together for a friendly game has grown into something far more impactful under Ryan’s leadership.

Ryan saw an opportunity to combine his passion for sport with Silverstone Leasing’s commitment to giving back. With a strong belief that businesses should play an active role in supporting the community, he pitched the idea of a charity football tournament that would raise vital funds for local causes and create a day of fun, competition, and connection for everyone involved.

Now an annual event, Silverstone Soccer has raised tens of thousands of pounds for charities such as Cynthia Spencer Hospice. It brings together clients, suppliers, and friends of the business in a uniquely spirited way. Ryan’s hands-on approach, from organising fixtures and securing sponsors to motivating the teams, ensures each tournament runs smoothly and grows in success year after year.

The 2024 event featured ten teams competing at Daventry Town Football Club, with Stonhills Estate Agents taking home the winner's trophy. Beyond the matches, attendees enjoyed family-friendly activities, including a bouncy castle and a car wash service provided by our Managing Director, Scott Norville.

Organised by our Silverstone Team Leader, Ryan Bishop, Silverstone Soccer has become more than just a football tournament; it's a community-focused event that makes a tangible impact.
